Balochistan Political Parties Demand Re Election In Province

QUETTA: In a rather surprising move, almost all the political parties in Balochistan, with the exception of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) and National Party (NP), have demanded re-election in Balochistan, rejecting the elections of May 11 as a “well-thought out scheme of establishment to declare certain groups victorious t having no mandate.
During an All-Parties Conference (APC) held at the MPAs hostel in Quetta on Thursday, the central leader of JUI-ideological Maulana Asmatullah, leader of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat Balochistan Maulana Muhammad Ramzan Mengal, Balochistan National Party Mengal’s leader Agha Hassan Baloch, Muhammad Qasim Khan Soori of PTI, Naveed Ahmed of JWP, Molvi Asmatullah Salim of Ahle Sunnat Balochistan, Malik Abdul Rahim, the district leader of PML-N and others expressed their resolve for re-election in Balochistan.
Speaking on the occasion, the leaders of APC said that they lost their trust in the Election Commission Tribunals and an impartial and an autonomous commission comprising Supreme Court judge should investigate the “misappropriations” in the elections. They said that ECP had miserably failed to protect and implement its rules and regulations across country generally and particularly in Balochistan, adding that therefore, hidden forces, polling staff and others connived to make a particular ethnic group successful in the elections.
They said that Chief Election Commissioner Fakharuddin G Ebrahim had assured them during his visit to Quetta that no bogus votes would be cast and if any proof of a single bogus vote was produced, stern action would be taken against returning officer, presiding officer and other authorities concerned. But they said that despite mass rigging, no action has been taken by the ECP. They said that the true representative parties of the masses produced proofs of misappropriations but despite this specific candidates’ victory was announced by the ECP. They said chief justice of Pakistan should take suo moto notice of this and demanded formation of a judicial commission comprising of a judge of the apex court which could award stern punishment to the elements involved in misappropriations in the elections.
