International Human Rights Day: Baloch People Are Facing State Genocidal Policies On Their Own Land: Bhro
A large number of Baloch women and children participated in the protest to urge the international human rights Organisations to take to notice of ongoing human rights violations in Balochistan.
Baloch Human Rights Organisation (BHRO) staged simultaneous protest rallies in front of Quetta Press club and Arts council Karachi on International Day for Human Rights on Monday.
A large number of Baloch women and children participated in the protest to urge the international human rights Organisations to take to notice of ongoing human rights violations in Balochistan. They were carrying placards and banners of their enforced-disappeared relatives and extra-judicially killed Baloch activists.
Addressing the protestors the speakers said that the Baloch nation is facing brutal cruelties on their own motherland. They said along with snatching the identity of the Baloch nation the Pakistani forces are also involved in abduction and killings of women, children and old citizens.
More than 14,000 Baloch, which include men, women and children, have gone missing since 2001. More than 600 mutilated bodies of Baloch detainees have been found since July 2010. These brutalities have been documented by Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and American foreign department, UN commission for Human Rights, Asian Human Rights Commission and Human Rights Commission of Pakistan.
The speakers said that despite the continuous gross human rights violations in Balochistan by Pakistan the UN has refrained from taking any bold action against Pakistan and only limited itself to expressing concern through media.
The UN has even failed to take notice of the two years long hunger strike of families of Baloch missing persons which in itself is the violation of UN charter.
The speakers requested the humanitarian Organisations including UN to take notice of human rights violations in Balochistan and take all necessary steps to stop these brutalities.
According to the central representative of BNM a protest was held in front of British house of parliaments on International Day for Human Rights. Many members of BNM and other Baloch political parties participated in the protest.
The demonstrators were holding placards and banners containing slogans, which condemned the human rights violations in Balochistan. The participants chanted slogans against the brutalities by Pakistan and Iran.
