Voice for Baloch Missing Persons leaders reached in America to launch 3rd phase of long march

WASHINGTON DC: The General Secretary of VBMP, Farzana Majeed Baloch and vice Chairman of VBMP, Mama Qadeer Baloch, have reached to America on Sunday.

The leader of VBMP were greeted and received by Baloch lawyer Dr Hussian Bor and Baloch Human rights activist Dr Sami Baloch at Dulles airport.

The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, a representative organisation of enforced disappeared Baloch person, have been struggling against enforced-disappearances in ‪‎Balochistan since 2009 when the chairman of VBMP Mr Nasrullah Baloch decide to launch VBMP.

Nasrullah Baloch’s uncle Mr Ali Asghar Bangulzai was abducted in 2001 and he is still missing.

vbmp-long-march-sistersFarzana Majeed Baloch635168-baloch-1385058290-697-640×480 and Mama Qadeer Baloch lead the historical peaceful 3000 km long march along several other Baloch volunteers from Quetta to Karachi and the Karachi to Islamabad to record their peaceful protest against human rights violations, disappearances and kill and dump policy of Pakistan forces in Balochistan.

Mam Qadeer’s son Mr Jail Reki’s tortured body was found dumped in 2011 whereas Farzana Majeed’s brother Zakir Majeed Baloch and senior student leader was abducted in 2009 and his whereabouts remain unknown.

On the way the Baloch marchers faced several hurdles including threats, intimidation and physical attacks from Pakistani ISI and military personnel but nothing could break their resolve to complete the ‪‎VBMP Long March.

On Tuesday the leader of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons have announced that they are planning to start the 3rd phase of their Long March from Washington DC to UN office in New York.

The 1st phase was from Quetta-Karachi, 2nd was from Karachi-Islamabad.

The General Secretary of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, Farzana Majeed Baloch said, “We represent the Enforced-disappeared persons and their families and we will continue our struggle for the release of all missing persons from Balochistan.”

The aim of the March will be to highlight human rights violations including ‪‎Enforced Disappearances and Pakistani state’s atrocities in ‪‎Balochistan and record their protest at United Nations.

However, the date and other details of the long march will be announced later when the preparations are finalised.
